The scientific history of Huntington’s disease changed radically with the discovery of the mutation that causes it. The mutation was finally identified after two decades of research that included thousands of families from small towns flanking Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela. Today, most of the families living in these ‘clusters’ of Huntington’s, with the highest prevalence in the world, live in extremely precarious conditions. Other clusters with a large number of families exist in the Caribbean Coast of Colombia, and in Ca\u00f1ete, Peru. All of these clusters have been the subject of numerous medical and scientific studies. Our work is focused in these clusters in order to ‘give back’ and help them overcome or better manage the challenges that arise from living with HD.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
