{"id":11455,"date":"2026-02-10T00:34:22","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T00:34:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/factor-h.org\/?p=11455"},"modified":"2026-02-10T00:34:23","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T00:34:23","slug":"a-christmas-celebration-for-children-at-risk-for-hd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/factor-h.org\/es\/a-christmas-celebration-for-children-at-risk-for-hd","title":{"rendered":"A Christmas celebration for children at-risk for HD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>December 2025 marked another meaningful journey to Colombia for our annual Christmas celebrations with families affected by Huntington\u2019s disease.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each year, across Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela, our local teams gather children at risk for Huntington\u2019s disease together with their families\u2014not simply for a holiday event, but to affirm community, dignity, and solidarity. These celebrations are moments of joy in regions where daily life is often shaped by medical, social, and economic hardship. Today, we help more than 700 children under the age of 13 have a better chance in life. And what joy they bring!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For me, seeing the children\u2019s smiles is profoundly moving. These are practical interventions\u2014but their impact extends far beyond material goods. They communicate stability, belonging, and hope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The smiles on the children\u2019s faces make every effort worthwhile. They reflect what sustained, coordinated support can achieve in communities that are too often overlooked.
