Se est\u00e1 realizando un censo completo a trav\u00e9s de la asociaci\u00f3n local de pacientes (Avenhun Zulia). la prevalencia estimada para individuos en riesgo es 1-5% de la poblaci\u00f3n total.<\/li>\n<li>Necesidades:\n<ul>\n<li>Alojamiento<\/li>\n<li>Hospicio local para atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica general<\/li>\n<li>Espacios sociales para j\u00f3venes.<\/li>\n<li>Necesidades b\u00e1sicas: Alimentos, ropa, sillas de ruedas, pa\u00f1ales, etc.<\/li>\n<li>Programas de escolarizaci\u00f3n<\/li>\n<li>Microcr\u00e9ditos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Barranquitas se encuentra aproximadamente a 4 horas en auto desde la ciudad de Maracaibo. Los caminos no est\u00e1n pavimentados en largos tramos, y hay falta de acceso a atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica adecuada en esta zona. La mayor\u00eda de la gente vive de la pesca en el lago de Maracaibo. Las inundaciones son estacionales y las condiciones de vivienda son en su mayor\u00eda inadecuadas.<\/p>\n<p>Las fotos a continuaci\u00f3n fueron tomadas durante nuestra visita en marzo de 2013. Celebramos una reuni\u00f3n con las comunidades locales para informarles sobre el Factor-H y los avances recientes en la investigaci\u00f3n para encontrar tratamientos para la enfermedad de Huntington.
