Helping even a single person at the right moment is enough to justify everything. And yet, while numbers may seem colder, they also help us grasp the true scale of being present — of bringing hope to those who face the hardest circumstances.
During the third quarter of 2025, Factor-H, in partnership with Hábitat Luz, expanded its impact in the communities of San Luis and Barranquitas, reaching a total of 2,045 people, including individuals with Huntington’s disease (HD), their families, and children from the Abrazos Program.
The organization’s work in Venezuela has focused on healthcare, support for adolescents and young people, and assistance for caregivers and mothers.
Health and Specialized Care
Over the course of this quarter, two large-scale medical missions were carried out with the participation of 22 health professionals e more than 60 volunteers. Services included neurology, pediatrics, dentistry, psychology, and nutrition consultations, as well as vaccination campaigns and the distribution of medicines.
- 38 people with HD were treated in Barranquitas, many of them bedridden.
- A total of more than 6,500 medicines and nutritional supplements were donated, in addition to medical tests and diapers for dependent patients.
- O Caregivers Program in Barranquitas provided weekly follow-up to 14 patients, supported by a developing team that includes a local physician.

In addition, 55 at-risk children were cared for through the community program in Barranquitas.
Community Development and Nutrition
Humanitarian aid reached 423 families, through the delivery of food and hygiene supplies, benefiting more than 2,000 people.
O community dining room in San Luis, in partnership with the Centro de Restauración Church e ACNA-CESAP, served meals to 100 people at risk, including children, nursing mothers, and elderly adults with HD.
Youth and Education
O Abrazos Program supported 385 children aged 3 to 12, providing food, school supplies, and guidance.
Additionally, 22 teenagers participated in the Learning Center, where they received educational materials and more than a hundred full meals.
Recreation, sports, art, and vocational training programs were also promoted — with special celebrations such as Children’s Day, and workshops in robotics e ballet, offering young people spaces of hope and motivation.
Network of Collaboration
Marina González Kaufman, president of Hábitat, highlighted that “none of this would be possible without the cooperation of 13 local institutions, including Cáritas Barranquitas, the Venezuelan-American Center of Zulia (CEVAZ), the Venezuelan Society of Neurology – Zulia Chapter, and the Faculty of Dentistry at LUZ. Our heartfelt thanks to all of them and their teams.”
González Kaufman also emphasized the operation of support groups for parents, caregivers, adolescents, and young people, “which are up and running and making a difference.”
