Join Factor-H and the international HD community in a unique conference, bringing together health professionals, scientists, families and at-risk youth leaders
The Third Latin American Huntington’s Disease (HD) Conference will bring together the global HD community for a unique, multidisciplinary meeting in Medellín, Colombia. The conference is organized by Factor-H in partnership with the University of Antioquia (GNA) and the Fundación de Antioquia.
Over three days, participants will engage with the latest advances in therapeutic development, clinical care guidelines, patient-centered workshops, and humanitarian initiatives—all under one roof.
Patients, families, healthcare professionals, researchers, and community leaders from across Latin America and beyond will join world-class scientists and clinicians in a collaborative environment designed to accelerate progress and strengthen regional capacity in HD care and research.
Over the past decade, the Latin American HD Conference has established itself as the leading integrative forum on Huntington’s disease in the region. Previous meetings have convened more than 300 participants from across the subcontinent, fostering meaningful exchange across scientific, clinical, and community domains.
At a pivotal moment for the field—marked by increasing momentum toward disease-modifying therapies—this year’s conference will also honor the life and legacy of Professor Francisco Lopera (RIP), physician, scientist, and humanist, and founder of the Neurosciences Group of Antioquia (GNA), whose contributions have been foundational to neurological research and patient care in Colombia and beyond.
