December 2025 marked another meaningful journey to Colombia for our annual Christmas celebrations with families affected by Huntington’s disease.
Each year, across Peru, Colombia, and Venezuela, our local teams gather children at risk for Huntington’s disease together with their families—not simply for a holiday event, but to affirm community, dignity, and solidarity. These celebrations are moments of joy in regions where daily life is often shaped by medical, social, and economic hardship. Today, we help more than 700 children under the age of 13 have a better chance in life. And what joy they bring!
For me, seeing the children’s smiles is profoundly moving. It is a reminder that beyond the science, beyond the clinical trials and biomarker development, there are young lives whose futures depend on our collective action.

Thanks to your support, we are able to provide tangible assistance throughout the year: clothing and shoes, school supplies, access to medications, and direct support to affected relatives. These are practical interventions—but their impact extends far beyond material goods. They communicate stability, belonging, and hope.
The smiles on the children’s faces make every effort worthwhile. They reflect what sustained, coordinated support can achieve in communities that are too often overlooked. Their smiles make me happier than any paper I have ever published!
I invite you to watch this short video from Colombia and meet the extraordinary team members who make this work possible on the ground. Their dedication embodies the spirit of Factor-H.

A small contribution from each of you creates meaningful change. It brings joy to children at risk and improves the living conditions of their affected family members. In these regions, Factor-H remains the only organization providing sustained, structured support to families living with Huntington’s disease. Go to the Factor-H website to make a donation.
It has now been more than twelve years since this journey began. We have grown, professionalized, and expanded our programs—but our mission remains the same: to ensure that these children grow up healthy, supported, and able to envision a better future.
None of this is possible without you.
Thank you for standing with these families.
