A comprehensive health day for children and adolescents in Santa Marta, Colombia

Santa Marta, May 10, 2025

As part of the Abrazos Program, Factor-H held a special day dedicated to children and adolescents directly or indirectly affected by Huntington’s disease, under the theme “Caring for you is my priority.”

The activity, held on May 10 in the city of Santa Marta, focused on health promotion and disease prevention, offering free consultations in optometry, dentistry, pediatrics, and pediatric dentistry.

During the day, 20 children were seen by optometrists and another 20 received dental care, reaffirming Factor-H’s commitment to the holistic well-being of vulnerable children.

This initiative was made possible thanks to the collaborative work of dedicated professionals: Leyla Patricia Mieles Prenth, Zuleima Bonilla Jiménez, and Arnel Arroyo Díaz, as well as the invaluable support of the Voluntariado Unimetropolitano and a Factor-H volunteer in Santa Marta, whose generous commitment made this event possible.

Through initiatives like this one, Factor-H continues to sow care, dignity, and hope in communities most affected by Huntington’s disease.
