The entire Factor-H team and families in the Abrazos Program mourn the passing of our beloved Maria Fernanda Soto Santris, 16, part of our HD community in Colombia. The second of three sisters, Maria Fernanda belonged to the Abrazos Program (at-risk for HD kids) for 4 years and had recently left it because of her age.
Maria Fernanda was in high school and was a shy but charismatic girl. From a very young age, she always wanted to be a business administrator, and she was studying hard for it!
She lived with her mother, learned to be a caregiver and to have responsibilities at home for herself and her sisters, and occasionally she spent time with her uncles, where she could ease the financial burden her family was going through.
Maria Fernanda was known and will be remembered as that girl with lots of dreams and aspirations to move forward to help her family.

La Fundación Factor-H y familias parte del Programa Abrazos lamentamos el fallecimiento de nuestra querida compañera María Fernanda Soto Santris, de 16 años, integrante de nuestra comunidad EH en Colombia. La segunda de tres hermanas, María Fernanda perteneció al Programa Abrazos durante 4 años y recién había egresado de él por su edad.
María Fernanda cursaba bachillerato y era una niña tímida pero carismática. Desde muy pequeña su anhelo era ser administradora de empresas, y estudiaba fuerte para lograrlo!
Siempre vivió bajo el seno de su madre y desde muy pequeña aprendió a ser cuidadora y a tener responsabilidades en su hogar, tanto con ella misma como para con sus hermanas. De vez en cuando pasaba tiempo donde sus tíos, dónde podía aliviar la carga económica que su familia atravesaba.
María Fernanda fue siempre conocida y será recordada como aquella chica con muchos sueños y anhelos de seguir adelante para ayudar a su familia.
